Farmers were devastated when Parmalat planned to close the doors at their northern Ontario cheese plant which had been the home of Thornloe cheese since 1940
To make a long story short, the farmers, with the help of Gencor Foods saved the factory from closure and further secured a place for their milk to be recieved.
Today Thornloe Cheese continues to produce high quality cheese that has won International awards at both the Royal Winter Fair and The British Empire Cheese awards.
